Nass Review 2009
Well what a weekend. It started bad with the Independent horse reporting that Montana had been injured in the field getting stuck in a fence and Team wild feast reporting Sam had a nasty bite on the saddle patch and also could not race.
This was a devastating Blow to team wild feast as they were hoping to capitalise on the Middlesex white wash and hopefully take the lead in the national points. So Ken Feast went on the mic to commentate and Martin wild succoured a ride with Hilton horses as their star boarder Tom Kilroy could not make the event. Also absent where team Windsor and The scourge of the North.
So no shake down day we five teams the ever present team 666 , The Independent horse and Hilton horses entering three horses. The most deadly of which being Anakin who had done so much at Middlesex and Tosca who we all new got the fastest time last year at Skegness and took second at harefield at the beginning of the season.
However on race day it was decided that Anakin would not race due to a loading issue and the horses being kept off site. So for the first day of racing we had the teams lined up like this.

From a competitive point of view it was disappointing that both Anakin and Sam had not made it as this would have created some big races. Clearly the main points would be raced for by Tosca from Hilton horses and Rohan from Independent horse. But as ever anything can happen and it did.
The first day was the most competitive with every horse racing for the points. Team 666 had more technical issues the ropes, shackles and even a second handle breaking on the start line. Indicating that Beelzebub has a lot of power off the line which could be very dangerous to other competitors once he really gets his feet as again he showed flashes of real speed.
Luis from Hilton horses had a surprise win over Rohan and really made the independent horse team work for their points.
But the big races of the weekend where always going to be the head to heads between Tosca with Arran running a new improved board and Rohan. The first race between these two set the mood of the weekend with both teams beating there personal best with the independent horse coming in at 8.9 seconds and Hilton horses with a jaw dropping 8.7. both fastest times of the season.
The battle between the field was fierce and by the beginning of the second day Hilton horses and Tosca had the lead with the independent horse in a close second who must have been hopping that Hilton horses would make some mistakes to give them the chance to get back in the race. Unfortunately for Independent horse the mistakes only happed for them with a false start, a lane penalty and eventually a real good crash. While Charlie , Arran and Tosca had a virtually 100% record with all victories’ and two draws. So clear and convincing was the win over the rest of the field Arran felt the confidence to bare is backside to the Independent Horse team.
And what about the times. Well the Hilton horses not only beat the rest of the field on the day but set a new record in the national horse boarding championship with a confirmed 8.5seconds and an unconfirmed 8.2 seconds. I think The Independent horse would agree that on that day they were just out classed.

So the Independent Horse are in the lead by only one point with one more competition to go. They must pull at least second place to get a draw with one of the other teams. A clear victory can only be achieved ( going on the track record ) if the Independent Horse wins the next competition some thing which they have not been able to do so far. But what ever happens teh fourth and finnal event this year will prove to be one hell of a climax to a very exciting season.
